I’ve been editor of Physics World since 2006 and originally did a PhD in polymer physics with Athene Donald at the University of Cambridge. I still quite like thinking about practical, lab-based physics of that kind and I particularly enjoy blogging about science communication, history of physics and my various trips and visits around the world meeting all kinds of people in the physics community. Outside work, I’ve got an unhealthy interest in Birmingham City FC and the German language.
