I’m the reviews and careers editor of Physics World, so I often blog about physics careers, science communication and outreach. I also retain a soft spot for experimental atomic physics, which I studied during my PhD at Durham University. I’ve been part of the Physics World team since 2008, but I’m not from these parts originally: I grew up in Kansas and lived in the US until 2003. Outside work, I’m a keen hill-walker (even when it’s raining!) and I enjoy reading about history, arguing about politics and becoming less incompetent at karate.
